Overview
Pilot 3: Nordschwarzwald, DE (Plastics Recycling)

Preparation
Collection, sorting and recycling of conventional plastics and bioplastics.
The Challenge ("As-Is")

Plastic waste management in the North Black Forest region is carried out by private companies and municipalities, focusing on collection, sorting and material recovery. However, non-recyclable waste is still often landfilled or incinerated.

The sector also faces inconsistent waste quality, limited real-time data, logistical inefficiencies, dependency on external suppliers and limited recycling infrastructure.

The Solution ("To-Be")

CSSBoost supports the development of a more stable and promising business case for waste management and recycling.

The value chain will analyse collection, sorting and recycling steps, identify improvement potentials, select appropriate CSSBoost digital tools, implement and test prototypical tools, and assess sustainability performance.

The PSM model is currently in progress, with mapping of resources and processes underway.
