Pilot 4: Lisbon, PT (Predictive Maintenance & Vehicles)

Preparation
Recovery, reuse, recycling and valorisation of parts and materials from end-of-life public transport vehicles.
The Challenge ("As-Is")

End-of-life public transport vehicles contain materials and components that can be reused, recycled or valorised.

However, CARRIS has limited visibility over the end-of-life process, which makes it difficult to collect related indicators and influence recycling, reuse and recovery practices. A significant share of under-valued assets is not yet reused or recycled.

The Solution ("To-Be")

CSSBoost supports a value chain that improves visibility over end-of-life vehicle flows and promotes better reuse, recycling and recovery of materials.

The work includes engagement with waste operators, definition of relevant indicators, collection of data on depollution, dismantling and recovery processes, and development of recommendations for improved end-of-life management.
