Data/interoperability

Record Component Reuse Separately from Routine Fleet Maintenance

Details
The Lisbon pilot monitors maintenance and waste alongside daily fleet-operation data. Component reuse adds a separate relationship between a retiring donor vehicle and a bus that remains in service. A general maintenance record does not necessarily describe that transfer or distinguish a recovered part from another replacement. The pilot is therefore refining the information collected on removal and reuse of components. Connecting the recovered item with its receiving vehicle and maintenance activity supports a clearer assessment of the circular intervention. This complements the wider fleet indicators while keeping the contribution of component reuse visible.
Fleet consumption, failure and maintenance datasets cannot on their own quantify recovered-component reuse or the circular link between operation and end-of-life treatment.
Operational and maintenance data are displayed in TRACK and shared through DAMS. The pilot team is discussing how to capture recovered-component reuse within the same information flow.
The required reuse-tracking information has been identified, with implementation under development.
Recommendation
Record the removal and reuse of recovered components within the fleet-maintenance information flow.
Transfer Conditions
Application within the CARRIS fleet-maintenance and component-recovery processes.
